A customer inquired whether I had a special table for her. I didn’t, but I could make her one. I got inspired by the painting “Christ in the house of Simon”, from the painter Bouts (1420-1475). It concerns a trestle table, 2 trestles and a top.
Tables, as we know them, didn’t excist in those days. By then people used trestles and a top, so the table could be set up whenever needed. My version however is customized in order to make it more stable, but it was an equally big challenge.
